Les has been in private practice in the SF Bay Area for 25 years. He primarily provides long-term psychodynamic therapy for adults and couples. As a clinical faculty member at UCSF Medical School, he trained medical students in consultation-liaison psychiatry at Mt Zion Hospital, where he also served as a clinical supervisor for psychology trainees in the crisis clinic. At Kaiser Permanente in Oakland he coordinated on-site and work-site health promotion programs and, as coprincipal investigator of several studies on integrating mental health care into the primary care setting, he provided training and consultation for physicians on detecting and treating psychosocial factors in medical care.
